More^5 Taiwan

Hi folks,

More Taiwan photos from the Hualien area.

Taroko Gorge entrance gate. Some people off to the left are (amusingly) posing for a photo.

A very high bridge over a deep canyon. I believe that this one, like many other bits of infrastructure, was built by the Japanese during their occupation of Taiwan around WWII.

Looking through the eye of the bolt.

This is what a river looks like after a typhoon's worth of water has been dumped into it. Scarily fast, destructive and nearly cement-gray with its load of rock. We heard that this river is usually clear and blue!?

Cheers! generalist
