Saving LJ (postings)

So I got and am now using an LJ desktop client. I wanted to ensure that I had a backup of what I've written here, whether thoughtful, silly or other.

I use a PowerPC Mac, so the client had to run on MacOS X. After looking around for a very little while, I settled on XJournal, because it has decent off-line capabilities and sounded like it would do the job. It seems to, though I have already found that I am irritated by the journal save format--why isn't it just the posting content, instead of some weird binary thing? Or maybe I'm confused, if so, please let me know.

I found that there were some things I just wasn't posting because I was afraid they'd be lost in the ether--perhaps this will help. I've certainly enjoyed rereading and then reflecting on what I have posted here.

Cheers! generalist
