Jimmy crack corn, and I don't care

For whatever reason, the phrase (really, the song) in the subject, "Jimmy crack corn, and I don't care" got stuck in my head. I never knew what it meant, so I thought since it was stuck anyway, I might as well look it up and tell you what I found. So here it is:

The song is apparently about a slave from the American South, well pre Civil War. His master dies despite his efforts.
